Simple pattern making course

Following recent requests for a weekend format, this course will take place just outside Bridgwater on Saturday and Sunday, 6th and 7th of June, from 10am to 5pm, with lunch provided in the middle of the day. After that, I will be available from 6pm to 8pm for anyone who would like extra support, time to ask questions, or the opportunity to keep working on their body block. This evening session is optional.

As this is a new collaboration, we are offering a special discounted price of £220 for the full weekend.

By the end of the course, you will have your personal bodice block with a sleeve, drafted to your own measurements. We will guide you through how to use it, what it enables you to create, and introduce the foundations of dart manipulation and shaping.

We are also planning a follow‑up course on how to use your well‑fitted block to create patterns for your own designs.

Please note that payment in full is required at the time of booking. In the event that you need to cancel, any refund will be at our discretion, although no refunds can be considered on or after 23rd May 2026. We may, however, allow you to re-book on another date.

About the venue

Greenway Farm is a Victorian farmhouse and smallholding located a couple of miles on the west side of Bridgwater, just off the A39. The workshop will be held in a converted barn, with access to 8 acres of patio, paddocks and gardens. The property is reasonably accessible for wheelchair users, with assistance – if in doubt, please call us and we will advise.

The course is offered on a non-residential basis, so if you are coming from some distance away, you will need to book your own accommodation. There are plenty of well-known hotel chains in Bridgwater, and there are also a few B & B options in Wembdon and nearby Cannington – please be advised, however, that there are no pubs serving evening meals in Wembdon itself.

We do have facilities for caravans and motorhomes (hard standing, toilets, shower), and charge £20 per pitch, per night, with EHU. There is a petrol station with Budgens supermarket, Greggs and ‘Cook’ meals just 100 yards from us.
